Hazardous substance management is a particular challenge, especially in small and medium-sized enterprises, for several reasons.

For all companies, the handling of hazardous substances is regulated in the Hazardous Substances Ordinance and the Occupational Safety and Health Act. For the correct handling of hazardous substances according to §14 of the Hazardous Substances Ordinance (GefStoffV), the entrepreneur has to ensure that employees are provided with a hazardous substances register and corresponding operating instructions in an understandable form.
